This morning I took off down another dirt road. There was a reservoir and a campsite. These are called Utah's Scenic backways, they are gravel or dirt but passable at low speeds. The posted speed was 40, I went about 20. I got to the campsite and used their dump and fresh water, $2.00 rather than $15.00 at KOA and beautiful surroundings. Then, my window broke again! It rolled down and wouldn't go up. I pulled into a campsite with shade, and tried to take the door off, I watched him a bit yesterday. I got it about half way off then got stuck. I walked to a near by site and asked if anyone was mechanical. Leon is my new hero! A nice man, camping with his wife and 4 sons. He took it apart and got it back on track and back together in about an hour. He wouldn't take any money. Many good people in the world. I set back off, got groceries and am now in The Grand Staircase Escalante area, Taking Hwy 12 Scenic byway, with many stops planned for Scenic backways. This area includes 1.9 million acres! The beauty is endless. Right now I am sitting in the visitor center at Kodachrome Basin State Park. Curly is next to me as they have wifi available. I don't know if I will spend the night here. So much to explore.
