I am finally cool! I’m at Cedar Breaks National Monument, elevation 10,000. I’m sitting looking over a beautiful meadow filled with wildflowers. Many of the same kind are in Calif. But these are more profuse. Queen Anne’s lace, a deep velvety purple flower, Indian Paintbrush, blue bells, Columbine growing wild. The air in incredible deep breaths are delightful. I left Zion this morning had a great breakfast in Sunnydale. The waitress was from San Bernadino. You can buy a lot there for $100,000. Right now I’m watching a hummingbird. A beautiful ride through Zion, I stopped in Orderville Mine Rock Shop and bought geode bookends. Cedar Breaks has an enormous sandstone amphitheater. The campgrounds are small but delightful. No hookups, or water but I’m prepared. Well worth the stop.

Hi Linda,

You had to choose to take an RV through the desert SW during the worst heat spell in recent years. Good thing you chose some of the higher elevations there, rather than Death Valley hi=126/ lo=100. 50 dollars for air-condition, all going toward the electric bill!

Stay cool, keep up the good reports!

P.S. My mom is salivating over your trip to the Rock Shop

John's advice...drive fast through the deserts, and slow through the mountains
