July 24
Another first! I am spending the night in a KOA RV park. I stopped because of the Laundromat, I spilled coffee on my sheets. Then I noticed free wifi. I left Cedar Break this morning with directions to a vet. Curly is scratching and has his anal gland issue. When I got to town, Cedar City, I discovered that today is a state holiday for Utah. It is pioneer day. All three vets were closed. I decided to stay and take care of it because next stop is Bryce Canyon and there are no cities along the way. The next week or so I will be following what is known as the Grand Circle. It encompasses Zion, Bryce, Capital Reef, Arches, and Canyonland National Parks. Meanwhile I’m in this nice campground in town. I don’t really think of it is a campground. It is a gravel drive with water, electric and sewer hookup. There is a patch of lawn with a picnic table. I got a spot with a couple of nice trees. It was only in the high 80’s today, bearable. I gave Curly a bath, he was filthy after a week of camping. I also did laundry and cleaned up the motor home. I haven’t gotten into the habit of taking my shoes off before entering , so it was messy. It is nice to have the electric for the hand vacuum and air conditioning. I also don’t have to worry about using water and dump stations. It is very clean and pleasant. It is a nice day to regroup. There is a pool, pet area, playground and small deli. I see the attraction, especially with kids. They will even do your laundry for you. Tonight I asked a neighboring teenager to watch Curly and did some power shopping. I went to Wal Mart and bought a new camera, since I dropped mine in the river. I bought a cheaper one. I bought a few supplies, like dish towels and plates and a new hand vac. The wifi doesn’t work that well so I don’t know when I will get this sent. A restful day, on to the vet and Bryce tomorrow.
